Our home Wifi in Mexico

We hopped on the ATV and did a trip into town yesterday. Had some running around to do... go to the bank, do some shopping, etc.

And, we signed up for home internet WiFi.

This whole internet access thing is getting pretty expensive for us! But we love our Starlink, and it will remain with Igor when we take off further south. So we need something here at the house, especially when we have visitors who are here when we aren't. One of the local installers had a special on for home internet, so we decided to go for it now rather than wait until we leave with Igor in February. That way we lock in the lower price for the long term.

It costs 390 pesos ($29.80 CAD, $21.40 USD) a month. And it goes down to 370 a month after the first six months. And, it includes a phone number and unlimited calling to Canada, USA, and Mexico.

Unfortunately, our Starlink is quite a bit more expensive. They raised the rates for roaming here in Mexico to 2,000 pesos ($153 CAD, $110 USD) a month, but we love being able to get online wherever we are, so it's a splurge for us. Besides, how else would we be able to give you daily updates when we're on the road!?

They put up the big Christmas tree in town.

We were trying to figure out what to do with the lightning here in the house. There are only very basic ceiling fixtures like the type you might find in a garage or workshop or basement. They're not very attractive. I found some really nice LED fixtures that are reasonable priced... and I ordered 13 of them to replace all the ones in the house! 

They were 120 pesos ($9 CAD, $6.50 USD) each, so it adds up when you order 13 of them, but it will look so much nicer and more modern. It will take some time to get them all changed!
