And that includes the rent on our house!
The only thing that is not included here is what we spent on items for the house. We're keeping track of all that separately so that we can see how much is offset by rental income when the time comes.
So, considering that we spent almost three weeks traveling in the motorhome, we think that's a pretty cheap month!
Here's how it all broke down...(the following amounts are all in $CAD)...
Fuel: Yes, Igor is fairly thirsty, but it is what it is. And fuel here in Mexico is pricey. We spent $254 on gasoline this month.
Toll Roads: We generally try to avoid the toll highways in Mexico, but sometimes it makes sense. We spent $41 last month.
Propane: We filled up before we left, and the tank is still pretty full. We spent $21. Igor doesn't use much propane.
Groceries: We spent $342 on groceries, which is pretty reasonable.
Meals out: A little higher than normal, at $198.
Alcohol: Only $24.
Miscellaneous: This is the category where we always spend more than expected. This time, it was on internet access, but that's a priority for us, so we just spend what we need to. The Starlink roaming prices went up, so that was $157. And then cellular access was another $62. Then of course the typical haircuts, local transportation, Spanish lessons at the beginning of the month, laundry, etc. The total came to $319.
Entertainment: A total of $96. Considering we played tourist a few times last month, that's not bad!
Overnight: Our rent at the house was $530. And one night in a hotel in Pachuca was $64. Then camping expenses came to $239. So a total of $833 CAD for accommodation for the month.
Motorhome: Monthly insurance is $53, plus an oil change at $77. Total of $130.
So, not a bad month.
December should also be reasonable, although we have a slightly higher budget of $2,400 CAD ($1,718 USD) for the month.
