Our house is for available for short term rent near Valle de Bravo, Mexico

Two bedroom, two bathroom house overlooking the lake near Valle de Bravo, Mexico.

Valle de Bravo is known as "the Switzerland of Mexico" due to its stunning alpine-like scenery: lush, pine-forested mountains surrounding a large, blue lake (Lake Avándaro) with a charming colonial town featuring cobblestone streets, cozy boutiques, and a relaxed atmosphere offering a refreshing escape from the city. Its combination of nature, adventure sports (like paragliding!), and picturesque colonial charm creates a distinct European feel, attracting Mexico City's elite for weekend getaways.

The house is located 6 kms (3.5 miles) from the center of Valle de Bravo, which itself is a two hour bus ride west of Mexico City. Valle de Bravo is a town of 60,000 people and offers all services and amenities. There is public transportation from the street to town via collectivo taxi at a cost of 20 pesos per person.

The house is located on the property of a working marina, so be aware that there can be activity going on at any time, although it's normally fairly quiet between Monday and Friday. Busier on weekends. And, this is the real Mexico... not a resort. There can be music, barking dogs and roosters crowing. Also, there are several friendly dogs on the marina property.

Approximate location of the house.

There are two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and shower. And a full kitchen. There is no "living room" as such, because there is a large covered outdoor patio. But each bedroom is also large enough that they each have a small couch, coffee table, and 43" smart television. And of course good WiFi throughout.

One bedroom/bathroom is located on the lower floor, and then the kitchen and another bedroom/bathroom are located upstairs.

Well equipped kitchen with good quality accessories.

The upstairs bedroom.

Both the kitchen and the upstairs bedroom have large windows facing the lake.

The first floor bedroom.

The bathrooms are small, but clean and serviceable.

Of course the highlight is the outdoor covered patio. This is where you'll spend a lot of time enjoying the near perfect weather. Highs around 24C (75F) and overnight lows around 10C (50F). Be aware, there are some mosquitoes that also enjoy the area. They come out around 6:30pm for a couple of hours, but we are never bothered by them during the day.

Rainy season lasts between June and September, with heaviest rains in July and August. Even during rainy season, it doesn't rain all day, with most precipitation happening between 3pm to 6pm with common, heavy thunderstorms.

October through April is normally sunny and dry, although this year we have had a couple of thunderstorms in December!

The highlight... our covered patio with a gorgeous view.

We enjoy a lot of happy hours here!

And a lot of beautiful sunsets.

Cost for the entire place is 13,000 pesos (approx $993 CAD, $726 USD, €617) per month. If you are renting the entire place, we prefer rental periods of between 1 to 3 months.

Or if we are here, we will also rent out the lower bedroom separately with shared use of the kitchen and patio. 10,000 pesos (approx $764 CAD, $558 USD, €474) per month. Shorter time periods are also welcome while we are here. Daily or weekly, if you like. 4,000 pesos per week, or 500 pesos per day.

Available immediately until January 27th, or from March 1st onward. Contact Kevin at [email protected]
