When we rented this place, we hadn't thought of the benefit of meeting the other travelers who come through here, and we enjoy doing that. We like telling people about the things to see and do in the area, as well as helping them plan their journey through other parts of Mexico.
Last week, Alex showed up with his Mexican girlfriend. He's originally from Quebec but lives here in Mexico and has a pickup truck with a rooftop tent. He speaks English, French, and Spanish!
Then on Friday, another couple from Quebec arrived. Stephane and Suhila. This is their first time driving in Mexico, so we enjoy sharing our knowledge with them. Their English is very good, and we get along well with them.
Just another beautiful morning!
We explained to Stephane and Suhila how to use the collectivo taxi to get into town, and we arranged a time to meet them there for lunch, since Sunday is market day.
Ruth found a little friend in the pet shop.
So cute!
You can buy your seafood from a rusty old wheelbarrow.
A beautiful day for paragliding.
So we showed them around Valle a little bit, had some lunch at the market, and then we did some grocery shopping, left them on their own to explore and we headed back to the house.
We've ordered a bunch more "stuff" from Amazon to set things up here at the house. As comedian George Carlin said, "a house is just a place to keep your stuff". Hard to believe we've been here for two months today and we're not done yet!
It's coming together though. This week will make a big difference when the furniture arrives, and they've guaranteed us that it will be here before Friday.
