We took your advice!

I can't remember now who suggested it, but we took your advice to decorate our walls with photos of Mexico that we took ourselves.

I found a Mexican online company called Canvas Lab that prints your own digital photos onto canvas so that you can hang them on the wall.

It's not cheap... but really not that much different than buying framed prints. We're trying them out for five different pictures of various sizes. Two of them are quite large, and obviously the price increases with the size. Those two larger ones are costing 1,999 pesos ($152 CAD, $110 USD) each, including tax.

The total for all five pictures is 6,195 pesos ($470 CAD, $341 USD).

The big job then was choosing exactly which photos to have done! We sat and sorted through hundreds of possible choices and made a short list of 32 photos. Then we each chose our top five separately and then compared which choices matched. This gave us the top two that we decided to have made into the larger ones.

They are supposed to arrive here by Wednesday next week. So, that will decorate our walls a little bit, although we will still need more and fortunately we have lots of photos to choose from if we decide to go that route for additional wall art.

On another note, our furniture has still not arrived! We originally made the order October 29th and she wrote right on the invoice that it would be ready between November 20-25. We had told her at the time that we were going to Hidalgo for the month of November, so December 1st would be great. When we got back, we contacted them and they said it would be delivered on the 6th. Then the 6th came and they said the carpenter got sick and it wasn't quite ready but it would be delivered this week. Being patient, I told them that was fine provided it was before December 12th. Yesterday morning, I still hadn't heard from them and they're now saying Friday afternoon! A bit frustrated by that, since they are leaving it right to the last minute.

Now, I'm trying to get some of it delivered today. We'll see what happens.
