This area, about two hours north of Toronto is known as "cottage country" because of its roughly 1,600 lakes, rocky granite shields, and thick pine forests.
And of course because of the areas beauty and the fact that it's a close two hour drive for weekenders from Toronto, it's a fairly expensive area. There are a lot of multi million dollar lakefront properties!
A lot of famous people own homes here. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have a lakefront home about twenty miles north of our son's place. Cindy Crawford. Jim Carrey. Steven Spielberg. Martin Short. Tom Hanks. And others.
We spent much of the day on the deck!

A great day at "the cottage". We're here for another day, but it's not as nice. Calling for rain this afternoon. Then we have to get up at silly o'clock Sunday morning to do the 20 hour drive to Nova Scotia!
