It's a big job...

I was hoping I would be able to "cheat"... and support the cabinets with new flooring by being able to lift them and slide the new flooring underneath. But it wasn't possible, and really, it wasn't the right way to do it.

So I resigned myself to the fact that this is going to be a big job... and I set out to get it done.

First, the kitchen countertop and sink cabinet needs to be removed.

Remove all the drawers and doors to make it lighter, and easier to access the plumbing.

But these things are like a puzzle... you have to guess in what order things were put together. I figured out that the countertop was installed last... so it had to be removed next.

And with an old vehicle, you just know you're going to encounter problems in a job like this. The back of the countertop is rotten. Why they use cheap particle board that disintegrates when wet in an area where you know there is going to be water is beyond me. So we're going to need to build a new countertop as well.

This would all be a lot easier if there was a Home Depot across the street... lol!

Next up is the removal of the fridge and cabinet!
