On May 20th, we pick up a Russian built 4 wheel drive campervan and spend a month exploring the mountains of Kyrgyzstan. When we finish that June 19th, we are planning to go to China!
China has granted visa free access for Canadian citizens until December 31st of this year. It's a great opportunity for us to visit since we'll already be in the area and we don't have to go through the visa application paperwork.
We haven't booked it yet... but only because I'm watching flight prices to see if they go down. We can fly direct from Bishkek to Beijing so we'll spend a couple of nights there before taking a high speed train to Zhangjiajie.
There are a lot of things worth seeing in China... after all, it's a big country. But something that's been on my list for a long time is Wulingyuan National Park.
Wulingyuan National Park.
Then to the Huangshan mountains for some hiking...
Anhui Province.
Probably a couple of weeks in China, then to Japan for a week or so before flying back to Mexico. we can fly direct from Japan to Mexico City. That would complete our first ever around the world trip!

Super cheap deal on a Roku 40" TV.
And in Canada...
Chiba! That's a trip of a lifetime!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly will be. It is a huge country though with lots to see, I am sure it will be a country that will have to be visited a few times to do it any justice but we are looking forward to just being able to spend a few weeks there.
DeleteWow what a trip!
ReplyDeleteWe are pretty excited about this trip, it is going to be quite the adventure.
DeleteWow, Two countries everyone should see. Definately looking forward to following along. Lots of pictures as always.
ReplyDeleteWe think so to and we are excited to see as much as we can. Of course there will be lots of pictures! 😊
DeleteCurrently finishing up an amost two week trip in Japan! Started in Tokyo, then to Mt. Fuji, Kyoto.. now in Osaka and headed to Hiroshima/Miyajima tomorrow before heading back to Canada. Transportation is SO easy here!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you guys had a fantastic visit to Japan. I don't think we will have two weeks there but maybe we will, we have no set plans at the moment. We have heard that the trains are amazing there.
DeleteWhy not spend a longer time in China since it's so big and has so much to see? Maybe do three weeks there and go to Japan another time?
ReplyDeleteThanks, and that could be what we end up doing. There is only very limited direct flights from China to Mexico, but yes... it is a possibility.
