More progress

We went into town yesterday and did some grocery shopping. On the way back, we stopped into a "ferreteria"... a hardware store.

It's just a small storefront, but in the back they have everything! We went there looking for a couple of catches and hinges for Igor's cupboard doors. 

I was pretty sure they wouldn't be easy to find. After all, Igor and his parts are 33 years old! But the friendly people behind the counter looked at our samples and asked "how many do you want?

I spent a couple of hours setting the fresh water tank and kitchen cabinet into place. 

It's coming together!

It was a bit of a fussy job because the floor was originally built with an under pad and thick carpet then the cabinet was placed directly on top of that. So everything is half an inch lower now, so I had to build supports for the base in order to keep the countertop level. 

This has been a really cheap fix though. I bet all in it hasn't cost us $300. Plus my time, of course.

There was a wedding party at the Airbnb house next door the other day. A crew came in the morning and set up a tent and tables, and a catering truck showed up and the guests began arriving around 1:00pm. They partied well into the evening. Things eventually quieted down about midnight.

Lots of travel planning going on around here! Now that our flights are mostly booked, we're starting to look at accommodation and activities for both China and Japan.
