It's actually quite busy!

The last time we were here in March of 2020 it was only a two night stay and those were Wednesday and Thursday nights. It was pretty quiet then, and our group were the only people here.

But we arrived on a weekend this time, and it's actually been quite busy. There are even tenters braving the chilly overnights.

I was looking back through our blog posts from that time, and I got sidetracked reading about the "coronavirus" comments and our time trying to navigate those first two months and the illogical decision making that was going on in the world at that time. Seriously? Closing the hiking trails?  Can't sit at a picnic table because someone with "coronovirus" may have touched it the day before. Yikes. It was sure a crazy time in the world.

Anyhow... back to the present.

A dog walking group showed up... they were all in the same van!

We set off on the trails for a hike down to the dam.

These odd flowers are a really vivid bright red.

The lake at the dam is full!

Really pretty spot.

And, another beautiful day!

We were looking at the weather in our hometown of Ottawa. They have already had a 15 cm snowstorm, and yesterday was a freezing rain day. Scraping off your car, winter driving, slush and winter boots. And they have the inevitable -25C days to look forward to over the coming months. We don't miss that at all.

We're walking along the trail that circles the lake, and a little dog was heading the opposite way. A few steps later and we met a lady and her burro heading to the little confectionary stand with her goods for sale for the day.

Ruth, saying hello to the burro.

We caught another glimpse of her opposite the lake a little further on.

This is a pretty spot for a photo op.

Such a beautiful area.

We made it to the dam.

Looking over the other side.

View on the distance.

Scenery along the way.

Lots of interesting vegetation.

And the path itself was interesting.

They are doing a lot of thinning the trees in this area.

It might actually be a little noisy during the week with this logging operation going on. We'll see!

In the afternoon, I installed a new dash cam that I had bought. It took a little time to properly run the wires, but it's now done. I need to get a splitter for the 12 volt outlet so I can have my phone plugged in at the same time when we're driving.

And, our Starlink internet system is working great up here in the mountains where there is no cell signal at all. Love it! Oh, and our gasoline furnace is working great too! Life is good!

Heading out to do some more hiking... have a great Sunday!
