There's always something interesting going on

The house we are renting is located at an actual working marina. At this marina, the boats are not kept in the water. The marina stores the boats on land, normally under cover, and when the owner of the boat wants to use his boat, he calls ahead and the marina gets the boat out of storage, cleans it up, and puts it in the water ready for the owner to use when he arrives.

Most boat owners live in the nearby cities of Toluca and Mexico City and come here on weekends. So obviously things are busier around here at that time.

Here are some of  the boat storage areas...

There are several homes at the back of the storage area.
Ours has the nicest view though!

They use a four wheel drive truck to put the boats in the water.

The photo above was taken a couple of weeks ago. You can see how much of the water hyacinth has invaded the shore line.

But since then, the water level has risen more and some of the water hyacinth has disappeared. It's just floating, so it moves around a lot depending on the wind. But the other day, a backhoe showed up and started piling up the water hyacinth from the other side of the dock. Then this morning, a big excavator showed up and moved the pile. We have no idea what's going on or what they are doing, but it is interesting to watch!

A big excavator showed up this morning.

And started moving the pile around.

Anyway, there's always something going on. Normally, it's very quiet around here from Monday to Thursday, but not this week!
