Yesterday we went for a nice walk... about 6 kms (4.2 miles) through the forest in behind the campground.
Igor at his overnight spot.
Nice view.
This van is being used for permanent overnight accommodation.
We set off on this trail with no idea of where it went!
There is another trail that leads up to the top of this rock.
We'll do it tomorrow.
Scenery along the way.
We ended up taking a round about route to the entrance of Las Peñas de Dexcani Alto Park. We think it's a state park. The entrance building is painted really well, depicting all of the parks residents.
The park entrance building.
Ruth, at the entrance.
The back of the building.
But there was nobody around. The sign said that we were supposed to pay 35 pesos entrance fee, but we've found that these state parks are usually very quiet mid week and it's probably not worth their while to have someone sitting at the entrance all the time. We actually decided it was getting late and we would return on Thursday.
It turned out to be a beautiful day.
Pretty butterfly.
Today, we're going to walk into the town of Jilotepec. It's about 6 kms one way, so maybe we'll see if there's a bus or collectivo to do the return trip.
