The main job remaining is to give him a bath! He hasn't been washed since last May!
We've had a visitor the last couple of days. Saskia is a single lady in her early fifties who is from the Netherlands but has been traveling all over Mexico for the last five years. She has been doing a lot of house sitting and volunteering, but also camping in her minivan. It's been nice to have a visitor. This marina is listed on iOverlander as a campsite, so they get a wide variety of visitors over the winter but it's very sporadic. The season has only just begun and she is the first we've seen so far.
A beautiful day for sailing.
Ruth was wiping down the drivers door on Igor and this fell out of the panel...
We think it's a male black widow spider.
He was moving pretty quick so the photo is a bit blurry.
We had a beautiful sunset.
Ten minutes later.
We were sitting out on the balcony around that time, and we heard a voice in English. It was a younger couple from the states traveling with their campervan. We introduced them to our host Chago to get them set up with a parking spot, but it was getting dark so we didn't spend any time talking to them. I'm sure we'll talk to them at some point today.
Then, just before we sat down to dinner there was a knock on the door. It was Pepe and Maricruz, a couple who own one of the houses at the back near the road. They live in Toluca, but come here occasional weekends. We met them along with their son Emilio back around 2012. At the time, Emilio was only 8 years old. He isn't with them right now because he is going to university in Puebla. He's 21 years old now! They did a video call with him so we could say hello. We hadn't seen him since he was about 15.
Anyhow, they invited us back to their house so we headed up there after dinner. They have tenants living in the lower part of their house, and they came up as well.
Kevin, Pepe, Maricruz, Rafael, his son Rafael Jr (10), and his girlfriend Breeze.
Breeze, Ruth, Kevin, Pepe, Maricruz, Rafael.
Maricruz speaks English, and Rafael understands quite a bit so it was a real mix of Spanish and English, but mostly Spanish. We do find an improvement since we started taking lessons, and our comprehension is definitely getting better. And situations like this really help. They are all coming over for breakfast this morning and Ruth offered to make pancakes with real Canadian maple syrup!

Great deal on these Rechargeable Under Cabinet Lights.
And in Canada...
