Not sure when you'll hear from us again

We've got a travel marathon coming up over the next 48 hours or so. 

We have a three hour train ride to Narita Airport tomorrow morning, then at 3:45pm in the afternoon we have an almost nine hour flight to Vancouver... where we will arrive at 8:45am... the same day!

So it's going to be an extra long Wednesday as we cross the international date line. 

We have Wednesday overnight in Vancouver and then a five hour flight first thing Thursday morning to Mexico City. Then of course the metro and bus to El Arco where we will likely arrive at our house around 7:00pm Thursday evening.

So given all of that, we're not sure when you're going to hear from us again. 

Our last day in Japan, we managed to get out and about. It was still baking hot... 36C (97F), and to be honest I didn't enjoy it very much as a result, but I'm glad Ruth did. 

We took a local bus 45 minutes up to the Shosenkyo Gorge and The Senga Waterfall.

The gorge has a lot of odd shaped rocks.

Huge boulders have fallen into the river over the years.

There are a couple of suspension bridges over the river.

We ended up walking about 5 kms (3 miles) and taking the bus back. At least we got to see a little bit of the area. But the weather reminded me of when we were in Hua Hin, Thailand. Too hot!

I'm obviously going to have to pay closer attention to the weather when I'm planning these trips. The sweet spot is daytime highs anywhere in between 15C (60F) and 30C (86F). Unless it's to somewhere special, those are our limits!
