Acapulco

We left our boondocking spot at Piedre de Tlacoyunque at just before 7:00am. There were fisherman already showing up at 6:30, so we got an early start. We won't boondock there again though.

Although we've overnighted three times at that spot and have never had a problem, it's one of these out of the way locations where if a vehicle drove up in the middle of the night we'd be nervous. There are better choices along that same stretch of Mex 200, so we will use another option next time.

Drove for 45 minutes or so and then stopped at the exit of a very small section of toll road to have breakfast and post the blog. This little toll highway cost 49 pesos ($3.77) and it was only about 3 kms long! But, the alternative was a 10 km drive that goes through a town with lots of topes and tight turns. So we paid the toll, and then carried on.

Lots of topes on yesterdays drive!

And one fairly busy town to drive through.

Other than that, an uneventful drive. We pulled in to Acapulco Trailer Park around 11:00am and got ourselves set up. Pretty much relaxed for the rest of the day, even went for a dip in the pool.

Long time blog reader "trkdrivinfool" is staying at this RV Park. John is here for the whole winter, and it was nice to finally meet another of our regular followers. Also great that we got to meet his sister Diana who is here visiting, and she is also a regular reader! We love meeting our readers! We sat out last night and chatted for a few hours. Diana is leaving today, so we are glad that we got to see her before she left.

There are maybe 10 rigs here, 5 of them appear to be set up for the whole winter. Most of the are from Quebec, but one from Germany and John is from British Columbia.

The view out our front window.

We've been to Acapulco Trailer Park twice before and although it's fairly expensive for us, we'll probably stay for three days before heading further south. Besides, it will give Lindsey a chance to relax after her and Cameron's long plane ride. Their plane appears to have left Toronto on time this morning and is scheduled to arrive just after 12 noon, so we will be hopping on the local bus this morning for the 37 km ride to the airport to meet her!

  7. I saw your header photo today and had to look outside to make sure my Roadtrek was still in the driveway! Looks like an exact twin except mine has snow on the roof.
