Sometimes going into a church is like going into a museum!

With a morning weather forecast that didn't include rain, we set off to do some exploring. First stop was the pretty tourist town of Beaumaris, and Beaumaris Castle. From there, it was on to the impressive Menai Suspension Bridge.

Arriving in Beaumaris...

Beaumaris Castle was built between 1295 to 1330.
But it was never completed.

I had read that the interior isn't really worth seeing, so we didn't pay the £8.70 ($15 CAD, $11.50 USD) entrance fee per person.

Tony, Helen, and Ruth.

A little bit of blue sky.

From there, we wandered around town and up to the old church.

Lots of flowers around town.

Pretty flowers.

That looks like an old building!

Ruth, looking at some of the old gravestones.

Built around the year 1500.

Interesting stuff!

The sarcophagus dating to the year 1237.
It had been being used as a horse watering trough until they figured out what it was!

Church interior.

Organ and ceiling.

Plaques from 1673 and 1672.

The tomb, carved in marble.

Beautiful stained glass window.

We then made our way to the nearby Menai Suspension Bridge...

Built between 1819 to 1826.

It's an impressive structure!

Looking up the Menai Channel.

This young one didn't seem too bothered by me.

From the other side.

Notice the clouds moving in.

The new bridge in the distance.

A strange carved boulder.

We drove over the bridge.

We stopped in and did some shopping, and then back home by which point it was raining. As was in the forecast, the rain came down all afternoon! We just stayed in, and relaxed.

So far, it's not raining this morning, but they are calling for showers on and off. We are headed out to do some more exploring.

Great deal on this Motorola Moto G Unlocked Smartphone. I still use the previous version of this phone that I bought 3 years ago! For an inexpensive phone, it's been fantastic.

And in Canada...
