However the captain obviously knew more than we did, and as we neared the entrance into the fjord, things started clearing up and it became a beautiful blue sky day!
Prince Christian Sound is a 100 km (60 mile) long scenic waterway at the southern tip of Greenland that connects the Labrador Sea to the Irminger Sea. The long fjord system is mostly surrounded by steep mountains reaching over 1,200 metres (3,900 ft), one of them at 2,220 metres (7,280 ft) high. Three large glaciers go straight into the water where they calve icebergs.
It's absolutely spectacular, and even the captain said later that it was a highlight of his career.

We saw a lot of waterfalls.

There was a fairly large (but tiny compared to us) catamaran going through as well.

We decided to take a break and go do our workout for an hour in the gym. It would have been too busy in the gym later on, plus the gym overlooks the front of the ship so we still had good views while working out.

Years ago, there would have been a glacier here as well.
Greenland if covered by the largest ice sheet in the world, second only to Antarctica. The mountains that you see are only close to the coast, although who knows what mountains lay under the giant ice sheet that covers the interior of Greenland.

We exited the fjord system and headed northeast through the open sea towards Reykjavik, Iceland.
Once out in the open, we saw a massive iceberg way off in the distance.

What a fantastic day we had. We were so lucky to have had such perfect weather!
So, another two sea days and then we arrive in Iceland. Unfortunately, the weather forecast for Iceland isn't looking so great. Fingers crossed they are wrong!
