I had booked this WestJet flight from Barcelona to Halifax because it was really cheap.
But I had booked it back in March, and at that time we had no idea what our summer plans were. My thinking was that you can get to Barcelona quite easily from anywhere in Europe, so I went and ahead with the purchase.
The original ticket was $284 CAD ($205 USD) per person for the one way 7.5 hour flight. Great deal! At the time, they wanted another $120 CAD ($86 USD) for the extra legroom seat, but I wasn't sold. However, three weeks ago I got an email saying they were on sale for $82 CAD ($59 USD) so I bought them.
WestJet is a pretty basic airline. There is no seatback entertainment, although they have streaming to your own device. However... they have a new free WiFi service sponsored by Telus, and supplied by Starlink. And it's available as soon as you sit in your seat. This is a huge plus for those of us who love being connected.
Lindsey and the kids were waiting for us at Halifax Airport. Great to see everyone again. Cameron (14) is taller than Ruth now!
Poor old Chester (their big Rottweiler dog) had to be put down a few weeks ago, so it was a bit sad that he wasn't there to greet us when we arrived at the house. But, they have a new pet...
Ruth, with Ivy, the yellow bellied pied python.
Card game with the grandkids and a couple of the neighbor kids.
While Grandpa has a nap in the background!
It's daughter Lindsey's 39th birthday today! We are taking the family to OnTree Aerial Adventure Park. We were there three years ago, but Lindsey was working at the time and couldn't go. So we're taking her for her birthday! Lots of fun to be had!
