A quiet Sunday

Didn't get anything done to Sherman yesterday, and when I look at what I still have to get accomplished we can't have many more days like that! We're only here for another three weeks and I don't want to be rushing around near the end trying to get things done.

Not in any particular order, here's what I still have to get done...
  1. Change engine thermostat
  2. Remove heater core and inspect
  3. Clean the K&N air filter
  4. Obtain and install plexiglas doors on the new cupboards
  5. Get new springs for the entrance door latch
  6. New carpet and floor
  7. Wash roof
  8. Inspect and caulk roof seams as necessary
  9. Repair drivers door window sticking
  10. Touch up paint on oven
  11. Change oil in generator
  12. Sort through everything we carry and get rid of what we don't use
  13. More, but it's minor things that can be done while we're on the road
Plus, I have some work to do on the little car because our son might be using it while we're gone.

We did go down into Ottawa yesterday, I showed my Mom's condo to a couple of people and we picked up some groceries.

Thanks for all your concern about Whiskey. She seems a bit better, but her stomach is still not just right. I was up with her a couple of times last night as well, but at least now she's letting us know that she has to go out, so she's regained some control. And she chased after a squirrel yesterday, so she's still got some ambition! Boy, she's still pretty quick when she wants to be!

  1. That's one heck of a list! Three weeks, eh? I could sort of work out a time estimate until I got to item number six!

The "new carpet and floor" kind of stopped me in my tracks. That could take a week all by it's lonesome.

Hope there's still time and energy left for blogging, unless you'll do a big catch-up at the end.

    Have "FUN"!

  2. Glad Whiskey is still able to chase those pesky squirrels. Hope she keeps feeling better. You have quite a list. I'm positive that three weeks wouldn't be enough for yes. So good luck and don't over do.

  3. I'm glad Whiskey has an interest in squirrels. That's definitely a good sign.

  4. Glad Whiskey is feeling a little better... It always breaks my heart when out little fur babies are not right! That looks like a pretty big todo list... Hope you get it all done!!!

  7. Hey at least you have a list, a game plan and before you know it will be done!
Good to hear Whiskey is feeling better.

  8. I agree with Bob, a new floor and carpet. Huge project! The rest have to be done but even the caulking can be a huge job. Good luck. I am getting itchy looking at all the Mexico photos. We are most anxious to hit the road now that Kelowna has become a new place for gang shootings. A few details on my post today.

  9. There's something about a squirrel that gets a dog up and about. I'm happy to hear that Whiskey is doing better. Having such a list is fearsome. I'm afraid that a list would scare me and I'd get nothing done while fretting about all I have to do.

My wife and I are having a grand time perusing your blog from your last trip to Mexico. The pictures in your blog make the idea of going to Mexico all the more interesting. Personally, I'm waiting for someone to stop by for awhile and coach me into creating a much nicer blog, ala Squamama's.

  11. Chasing squirrel...good thing. Long list...bad thing. You are a pretty ambition guy...you will find a way to get it all done with time to spare.

  12. Bob...Yep, the floor will be the biggest challenge and Kevin is leaving that to be the last thing to do before we leave. If time is getting tight at the end, whatever can be done on the road will get done on the road, but I am sure Kevin can get through his list.

Jim and Sandie...Whiskey is doing better, we still had to get up 3 times last night, but she did keep all her food down yesterday. Now we just need the other end to improve.

Karen and Al...Yep, chasing squirrels is definitely a good sign.

Donna...We agree, we don't like to hear or see about our pets getting sick. As for the list we will get her done!

Karen and Steve...Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we will be getting up to Wisconsin on this trip. Thanks for the invite though, it would have been nice to meet with you. Maybe we will meet up on the road some day in the near future.

Sue and Doug...Thanks! Yes, the list is a bit long, but Kevin will get through it.

George and Suzie...Always need a game plan.

Contessa...We are lucky that Sherman isn't too big and the carpet in the bedroom doesn't need replacing so it shouldn't be too bad. I don't think he will have lots of caulking to do either. We are eager to get back on the road and headed south. Not too much longer.

Paul...Yep, definitely a wellness check for dogs. I don't think I've met a dog yet that doesn't want to chase a squirrel. Kevin had to make a list because he was afraid he might forget something along the way. Thanks for dropping by, we hope you will keep enjoying our travels.

WBY...I think your undertaking is more ambitious than Kevin's list. Hope everything is coming along for you.

FULL-TIMERS...OCT. 17, 2009...I love your good thing, bad thing description.
