The first one was Mirador La Cruz... the cross. One way was 6.0 kms (3.7 miles).
Me, on the trail to the mirador.
Oh, forgot to show you a pic of my fancy new boots!
Ruth on the trail.
Looking back at our village.
Zoomed in, you can really see all of the levels where they grow grapes.
Me, and the view!
Can you see Ruth leaning up against the cross?
That's where we sat and had lunch.
Mirador la Cruz.
Then it was another 2 km hike to the next mirador...
Ruth coming up the hill.
The town of Santo Estevo de Ribas de Sil is on the opposite side of the valley.
We will visit this town later in the week.
Me, and the view.
The sky was really beautiful.
Ruth, at the Pena Pombeira Mirador.
And then we headed back home. We ended up doing 14.2 kms (8.8 miles), so it was a good test for my new boots. That's actually a long distance to put on a fresh pair of boots, so I'm not surprised that I ended up with a small blister on one ankle. But overall, they felt really good, so I'm sure they'll be fine.
We had planned on doing a long day trip to the coast today, but I didn't sleep the best last night, and didn't want to have to drive back tired, so I think we'll put that off until Wednesday.

Good deal on the Shark Rocket Ultra Light Corded Vac.And in Canada...
The boots match your shirt and the sky. Glad they performed well for you on such a beautiful hike!
ReplyDeleteKevin wasn't so sure about buying the boots because of the blue and then I mentioned that he needed to remember that he wears blue a lot and that the boots won't stay so bright and clean once he does more hiking in them. He did say that they were very comfortable though, hopefully his ankle will get used to the boots and that the blister won't get worse and will just toughen up to the boots.
DeleteIt was a beautiful hike with some lovely views.
