It's so nice that we are able to go out walking during our one on one conversations. It's such a beautiful area, and we've been pretty lucky with the weather although we did have a few drops of rain yesterday afternoon.
A nearby farm.
Horses!
There are quite a few different paths you can take during a maximum 50 minute walk.
Another couple of participants doing the same walk.
A view of the nearby town of El Barco de Avila and the Valdecorneja Castle.
Evening program schedule.
Out for an evening walk.
I almost stepped on this little fellow!
After dinner, we had a special entertainment presentation where they made a "Queimada", which is a special drink from the Galician region of Spain. It's history has to do with pagan rituals, and our MC Fernando is a really good entertainer and he made it a lot of fun.
The goal of the preparation ritual is to distance the bad spirits that, according with the tradition, lie in wait for men and women to try to curse them. Before you drink it, you have to read the words of a spell out loud to ward off the bad spirits.
Natalia, Fernando, and Ruth.
Obviously Natalia and Ruth are the token witches for the ceremony!
The drink has alcohol in it, and is lit on fire.
Another fun day!
