We had arrived in Cancun on November 12th.
We were lucky to see our friend Carmen once again in Cancun. We've known her since our RV trip to mainland Mexico in 2009!
Carmen, Ruth, and Kevin.
Then we flew to Reynosa to meet our Belgian friends Bjorn and Freya who had driven Igor down from Ottawa for us.From Reynosa, we drove to meet friends Chris and Juan who live just south of Monterrey.
Ruth, Bjorn, Chris, Juan, Freya, and Kevin.
Lots of laughs with this bunch! Then we headed directly south to one of our favorite places at Valle de Bravo.
We got stuck in Galeana when Igor needed a new fuel pump!
Igor spent the entire month of December parked up here.
We took the bus for a weekend in Mexico City with long time friends Dave and Helene.
Dave was the best man at our wedding!
We enjoyed spending time with friends Paco and Oti.
While Igor was parked there, we took a little flight back over to Cancun to meet up with our daughter and grandchildren for a week.
Kevin, Cameron, Ruth, Sadie, Lindsey.
We had a fun week!
But then they flew back to Canada, and we flew back to Valle de Bravo. On January 2nd, it was time to go exploring! We headed west towards Puerto Vallarta.
We met up with two of the couples who had been on our last Mexico RV Caravan...
Aron, Owenita, Roger, Mona, Kevin, Ruth.
Then we spent some time in another favorite spot... Valle de Juarez.
Igor got his roof cap painted while we were there!
And we spent lots of time visiting with friends Roy and Sue!
At the end of January, we headed to the coast just south of Colima.
Where we spent a couple of days with friends Barb and Mark and their son Shawn.
Then it was off to the beach at Melaque to visit with Denise and Brad.
We did some free camping on the way to Puerto Vallarta.
And we spent two weeks at this beautiful RV Park right in the center of Puerto Vallarta.
We visited with my long time friends Jeff and Bruce.
And we met up with Judy, Doug, Sue, and Lorne.
And we made a trip out to Valle de Banderas to see Jean and Garry.
Then we headed inland towards Etzatlan, and stopped at this beautiful waterfall.
We did some hiking along the way.
We always enjoy spending time at Campadritos RV Park in Etzatlan with Bonnie and her daughter Sam.
We were lucky to cross paths with Renate in San Miguel de Allende.
Then another side trip to Mexico City to meet up with more long time friends Dave and Maggie.
Then we met up with friends Gregg and Janet in San Miguel de Allende.
Then a week with our friend Doug in Guanajuato, where we also met some of his friends!
Kevin, Ruth, Louise, Keith, Doug, and Martin.
We were lucky to be able to catch a last minute lunch with fellow world travelers Eric, Brittany, and Caspian.
Then it was up into the mountains as we headed towards the state of San Luis Potosi.
When the temperatures hit 40+C, we enjoyed a few days at this swimming pool!
We spent the week of Semana Santa parked by this river.
And of course our best overnight spot of the trip!
And, our return to Valle de Bravo!
Our approximate route map for this trip!
The blue line is our flight to visit Lindsey and the kids just before Christmas.
The yellow dot is Valle de Bravo where we are now.
We drove a total of 5,024 kms (3,140 miles), and we spent $1,961 CAD ($1,422 USD) on fuel.
