We had already been there when we first arrived as we needed to stock up, but we never explored the city itself at the time.
There's really not a lot of attractions... but I guess the main one is the old Monastery of San Vicente do Pino, which is now a fancy hotel.
The Rio Cabe.
We are headed up there!
We were there during afternoon siesta, and the old plaza was very quiet.
There were some nice views as we climbed the hill up to the old monastery.
Old gate.
The main entrance.
It's a fancy hotel.
The central court is now surrounded by glass.
Nice views all around.
The old entrance gate.
Ruth at the old gate.
Kevin in the old part of town.
There are a lot of buildings that need renovating.
When you build thick walls, they last a long time!
A secondary attraction is the Colegio de Nuestra Señora La Antigua.
A school, founded in 1593, and it is still a school today, with about 600 students.
Stork nest on the top!
Another view of the monastery (hotel) on the hill.
Notice from the photos above that it was another beautiful day. The weather has been pretty much perfect, but it's starting to warm up. In fact, Spain is coming into a few days of a heat wave, and it's supposed to be a record 35C (95F) in Madrid today. We are also going to be warm, but only 31C, which is not that bad. We are doing a day trip to the coast today!
We had a cattle drive outside our building yesterday evening!
