Scenic drive to Agadir Airport

Google maps was correct, it did take four hours to do the 216 km (134 mile) drive to Agadir Airport yesterday. But we broke it up and did two hours in the morning, then stopped for lunch for an hour, then another two hours in the afternoon.

And, it was a fairly scenic drive!

Market day.

This was a busy little town to drive through.

Scenery along the way.

Somehow, they manage to grow things here.

Someone got creative.

Max, at our lunch stop.

The Atlantic coast.

This little valley was full of banana trees.

And the village had lots of stalls selling bananas.

Town on a hill.

Bananas.

The coast north of Agadir is popular with the surfing crowd.

There was so much sea spray from the ocean.

Colorful little village.

Surfers.

Waiting for the big wave.

This area does have some nice beaches though.

The "no wild camping" regulations don't seem to be applied here.

Boats under construction at Agadir port.

The city of Agadir.

Agadir is a much bigger city than we thought it was going to be. On the map, it doesn't look much bigger than Essaouira, but it's actually four different towns that have kind of grown into each other. Traffic was pretty hectic.

But, we made it to the airport, and got ourselves parked up near five or six other motorhomes and campervans. I went in and got the approval letter from customs to leave Max behind while we fly out of the country.

Yesterday's drive, 216 kms (134 miles).

The airport itself is a lot smaller and quieter than the Casablanca airport though.

Max enjoyed a spectacular sunset in the airport parking lot.

We are up at silly o'clock this morning for our 6:45am flight. Next post coming to you from Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.
