Booked some more flight tickets!

I got sidetracked yesterday morning while doing more travel research, and then we met up with Helen and Tony in the afternoon and I never got back to doing yesterdays blog post. 

But, I did get our flights booked to Tirana, Albania... with a stopover in Bologna, Italy!

There is a flight that goes direct from Edinburgh to Tirana, but it was pretty expensive. So I decided to look at other options. Long story short, I booked Edinburgh to Bologna, on July 7th, and then Bologna to Tirana on July 8th and an Airbnb for the overnight in Bologna... and all three purchases came to less money than the single direct flight would have been, and we get to spend 24 hours in Bologna... a city we have never been to.

Now, I just have to book our return from Tirana to London. We want to arrive at either Gatwick or Heathrow, but most of the cheap flights go to Stanstead or Luton, neither of which would be very convenient for getting to the Southampton cruise ship port. So this will also take some research in order to get the best deal.

The last part was actually quite a climb.

Then yesterday we met up with Helen and Tony and went for a walk at Den Wood.

You'll notice there's not much sunshine.

The sun does peek out occasionally, but it's mostly cloudy. Temperatures around 19C (66F) although it's supposed to go up to 25C (77F) before dropping back a bit again on the weekend.

So, Helen and Tony will spend the next couple of days with us before carrying on in their motorhome, but we might see them again at our next house sit south of Newcastle.
