Yarm is a market town known for its busy high street. The area has been settled for over a thousand years, and they even found a 9th century Viking helmet back in the 1950's.

Yarm was granted market status by King John in the year 1207. Even today, there is a market held the second Sunday of every month.

There is only one main route through Yarm, and it goes right along high street, so it's always very slow going to get through town.

Things are warming up. There's a heat wave going through Europe at the moment, and we are catching the northern edge of it. Temperatures are going up to 26C (79F) today and 29C (84F) tomorrow which is quite warm for this area.
