Booked more flight tickets!

Saturday was pretty much a rain day here in this part of Scotland! In the morning, we said goodbye to our hosts as they were headed for a ten day holiday in Turkiye. 

Then, we waited for the rain to let up before finally heading out for a walk with Loki, although we ended up getting wet anyhow. Yes, we do have proper rain gear, so it didn't matter.

And, we ended up going out for another walk after dinner, and the rain had pretty much stopped by then.

So, all this rain meant we had lots of time for internet. 

We return from our cruise the morning of August 16th. We get off the ship in Southampton, and we already have a bus booked to take us to London where Ruth has an aunt who we will stay with for two nights. Then on the 18th, we will fly London Gatwick to Barcelona to catch our flight to Halifax, Canada.

We originally booked the flight from Barcelona because 1) It was a really cheap deal and 2) because we didn't know where we were going to be mid August and it would be easy to make our way to Barcelona from wherever. Well it turns out that "wherever" is London and we actually could have flown direct to Halifax from London although it likely would have been quite a bit more money.

Anyhow, we booked a relatively cheap Vueling flight for €85 ($133 CAD, $98 USD) each that departs late evening on the 18th and we will spend the remaining part of the night in Barcelona airport before our flight departs to Halifax at 11:20am on the 19th. Spending the night in the airport is never ideal, but we just can't justify the cost of a nearby hotel to get six hours of sleep. And, we will have lounge passes where we can pass some of that time.

So, all of that travel is now arranged. We only have one more thing we need to figure out...

We still have zero plans for the period between July 7 and July 30. Originally, we were going to go to the Baltic countries... Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. But that was before the cruise came up and now we only have three weeks available. I know, that is lots of time to at least see one of those countries. And we're still thinking about it. The other option is to stay here in UK and continue house sitting until July 30th. I already have a car rental booked (although I can easily cancel it) but July is quite expensive for car rentals. On the other hand, staying in UK would definitely be the cheaper option despite the expensive car rental. There are a lot of house sitting opportunities.

Anyhow... we'll figure something out! If anybody has any other options to suggest, we are all ears!
