Valle de Bravo (day 2)

Did you ever get up in the morning, and then just do pretty much nothing all day? Well we haven’t done that for a long time, but we did today!

Spent some time on the computer. We have our cellular internet connection which works well most of the time, but for whatever reason was not working the best this morning. And we have two different wi-fi signals that are unsecured. But they also are not very strong, and not consistant. So we have internet, just not great internet.

Oso the dog spent quite a bit of time hanging around us today. He loves to have his stick thrown so he can bring it back to you. He seems to have endless energy. And Whiskey just looks at him funny…almost like she’s jealous that we’re playing with him.

Ruth did a few items of hand washing. I did nothing. Actually had a siesta after lunch. That felt great! And we read our books. Once again, a clear blue sky.

Late afternoon, Santiagao brought a friend by who could speak a little English. Not much though, actually our Spanish was better than this guy’s English. But he wanted to ask if there was anything we wanted to do and that Santiago would try and arrange it. We really only want to relax, but eventually said we wouldn’t mind going for a hike in the hills if there is a lookout over the lake. You can only imagine this conversation taking place in Spanish and English with us and our little dictionary. So, someone is going to arrive at 10:00am Thursday to take us to a place where hang gliders take off. At least that’s what we think is going to happen! And we made sure that Whiskey could come too! I wonder now if we’re just going for a hike, or if we’re going hang gliding!

Our internet connection was pretty good late afternoon and we actually managed to download the latest episodes of Amazing Race and Survivor, so we watched them this evening. We are so totally happy with our solar panel and battery setup. When we are parked in full sun as we are now, we don’t have any worries about running out of electricity.

We’ve decided to stay here a full week!

  2. We love the pictures of your spot by the lake. Your comment on Whiskey and Oso makes me think of me, I can hardly keep up with my Grandson now and not so many years ago I could outrun, throw him in the pool, and do so much more.Above 60 life starts catching up with you, enjoy it all while you can and I .m sure Whiskey is enjoying her slower pace in her golden years. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

  3. Well I hope it's a hike and not hang gliding. But then again, hang gliding would be lots of fun!

  8. Alex...Less than 2 weeks now, we can't wait either.

Sam and Donna...Yep, we lose the energy as we get older. Kevin and I try to stay pretty active, I guess we'll find out once our grandchild is born and is old enough to start running around.
Whiskey seems to know her limits. Oso is just a pile of energy.

Karen and Al...More like a drive than a hike. more on that tonight.

John and Ellen...We are starting to get an idea of what he will be into next week, he needs the rest.

heyduke50...Oh, we are really roughing it!

Dale and Mary-Lou...Glad we don't have to deal with that this year. We are thinking of everyone back in Canada!

WBY...No hand gliding, at least not today. Don't work too hard on the shovelling!

  9. You sure are in a great spot there, just beautiful. Just curious as to who your cellular carrier is down in Mexico?

  10. We are using a TelCel stick. We didn't shop around though, which is not like us at all. I'm starting to hear that a Movistar one would have been cheaper, but may not have had as good coverage. We thought we were getting 3GB os usage for the first month, but the text that they sent at signup says we have 6GB...so not sure what's up with that. And I haven't quite figured out how to see how much we have left! I can get daily usage, but not usage to date!

  11. Glad you are still finding some great parking spots, and not with dozens of other motorhomes.

  12. No problem finding places. I think everyone stayed home this year, not many motorhomes around.
