The first of many great sunsets

I spent most of the morning on the laptop. Actually, when you count the Blue Jays game later on, I actually spent most of the day on the laptop!

But in the morning, I was shopping online. We knew that we were going to have to spend some money to fix this place up the way we want, and also to fix it up enough that someone might want to rent the spare bedroom and bathroom on a short term basis (Airbnb). I originally figured we might have to spend between $5,000 to $10,000 CAD ($3,500 to $7,000 USD).

Now, I think we'll probably come in much closer to the lower end of that. And, some of it doesn't have to be done right away.

This huge spider is living on our patio.

He is about 2" big and his web is about 30" diameter.

Yesterday morning, I was shopping for televisions. One for the main bedroom, and one for the spare bedroom. It's amazing how much televisions have come down in price over the years. I bought two 43" Motorola Google Smart TV's. This brand and model is only sold in Latin America, and it gets great reviews. For only 3,999 pesos. 

Here in Mexico, the price you see is the price you pay and it already includes taxes. Of course this is the way it should be everywhere in the world, and it is in many places. Not so in Canada. Anyhow, 3,999 pesos is $303 CAD, or $216 USD. Amazing.

I wanted to order them from Amazon Mexico, but when we were here last year I had tried to order a laptop and had my account frozen for possible fraudulent activity. It took me a week to get that sorted out, so this time I contacted them in advance and everything went through smoothly. They should be here tomorrow.

We also need a couple of dressers and cupboards for clothing, and some kind of cupboard or island for the kitchen. Oh, and a used washing machine. We're going to see what we can find local for that stuff.

This is how we've been watching the baseball games.

The Blue Jays lost again yesterday. It's not looking good, but it's not over until it's over, as they say. Hopefully the new TV's show up before the next game! I kinda got spoiled watching it on the big screen.

This area gets some really nice sunsets throughout the winter. We're nearing the end of rainy season, so we'll be getting more and more of these over the next few weeks!
