That was a lot of flying!

Wow.

That was a lot of flying over the past 9 days. In fact, we were in 7 different airports and on 6 different airplanes!

But, we are now at our daughter's house just south of Ottawa, and looking forward to seeing all of our Ottawa area family and friends over the next six weeks.

Here's our flight map for the past 9 days...

Six different airplanes over the past 9 days!

In fact, 2019 will be a record year with air travel for us. We are going to Ecuador in October, and when that is finished we will be flying down to pick up Sherman (our motorhome). By the time we do that, we will have been on 21 different airplanes this year!

Yesterday evening we flew from Saskatoon to Ottawa. It is so tough to get decent deals on airfare for flights within Canada because Canada has no competition and we have such high airport taxes and fees. It doesn't help that we needed to fly in August during high season. We managed to pay $246 CAD ($185 USD) for the one way flights. Not bad, but it didn't cost much more than that to fly from Sydney to Honolulu!

This was the one flight out of the six that was late leaving, and late arriving. We didn't get into Ottawa until 1:30am, but it was only about a half hour late. Our daughter was there to pick us up. Thanks Lindsey!

Grandkids Cameron and Sadie were excited to see us, so of course they were in to wake us up by 7:30am. Don't blame them, because we were excited to see them as well!

So, we will spend the next two days with them, and then we are taking the grandkids up to Red Pine Camp for the long weekend. Should be lots of fun, with just us and the grandkids to give Lindsey and Justin a break.

Then, we will spend the month of September visiting family and friends. September is usually the best time for weather around the Ottawa area... not so hot and humid, and not many bugs, so we're looking forward to that.

    1. It is more late September and early October that you normally see the fall colours and yes, they are really pretty.

Trust us, we will have a great time. :-)
