We wandered around some more, then had some lunch and planned on taking the 3:00pm bus back to Valle de Bravo.
We went through the small Chinatown section of Mexico City.
Chinatown in Mexico City.
Walking in Alameda Central Park.
The oldest public park in the America's, established in 1592!
The old central post office was built in 1907. It's still partially operational, but there are now a lot of government offices.
There was only one other person in the group... a woman from Houston, Texas. And thankfully she was bilingual so she did a lot of translating for us because the tour was only in Spanish.
Sadie and Cameron on the beautiful stairs.
Such a gorgeous building.
A mosaic made with postal stamps.
One of the meeting rooms that they have kept original.
We went into the main cathedral, but didn't take many photos because we've been in there before.
The organ pipes are impressive though!
Made in 1736!
Then we went to a cheap taco place and six of us had lunch for 210 pesos ($16 CAD $12 USD) and afterwards went back to the hotel to pick up our stuff. Then took the metro (underground) to the Observatorio station and the Poniente bus terminal.
Two hour bus ride to Valle de Bravo, and then a 1 km walk to our house.
We all decided we would just hang around the house on Friday. Our friends Paco and Oti showed up and Cameron was thrilled to be able to go fishing with them. They even let Cameron borrow a rod for the duration of his stay here. He's definitely in his element.
Justin is a handy guy and installed our hammock for us!
Sadie and Lindsey.
Paco, Oti, and one of their grandchildren and his friend.
View from the boat.
So, we had a nice relaxing day, but today we have to get out and show them some of the sights!
