What happened to Central America?

One of our long time readers saw that we are going to Kyrgyzstan in May, and asked "What happened to Belize and continuing on to South America?

And she was right to question that! When we made our Central and South America plan, it was designed to be fluid. We don't have to be anywhere at any certain time, and we knew it was a three or four year plan.

Or maybe even longer than that.

Especially since we started last year and we haven't made it out of Mexico yet!

Part of the problem may be obvious... we want to do too many things. We want to have the house in Valle de Bravo. We want to have our family come and visit us there. We want to see our favorite parts of Mexico one more time. We want to go to Belize and all the other Central American countries. And we want to do other trips in between all of that.

So it's all about variety for us. We do not want to spend six months or more at a time in Igor. And, we do not want to be traveling through Central America during rainy season. We've seen others attempt that and get discouraged. So we have to meld all of our wants and don't wants together!

The current plan has us returning to Valle de Bravo around January 23rd. Off to Mexico City January 28th. Two weeks with our daughter Lindsey and family until Feb 10th. Two weeks in Ecuador until Feb 25th. Then early March we will take off in Igor again into the state of Veracruz and towards Belize in April. We will likely park Igor in Oaxaca for the summer and return to him in October. At that point, we will continue into Guatemala. But as I said, things are fluid. 

Yesterday, we did the short drive from Chimulco Water Park to Campadritos RV Park in Etzatlan.

Once again we took the back roads, but this time they were in really good condition.

We're going to stay here for a week and then head down to the coast, taking a route we've never done before.
