It's going to be a busy few days

We sat and watched the paragliders for a while before leaving yesterday morning. It sure is amazing. As you'll see from the photo below, there were about 15 of them flying around for a couple of hours!

They looked like vultures circling above the dead body!

But, they were just up there enjoying themselves. It's so amazing how they take advantage of thermal wind currents to gain altitude and stay aloft for so long. We overheard one guy say that he had done 134 kms (83 miles) and been in the air for seven hours!

Paragliders just flying around.

The sky was actually not as bad as it looks in that photo. It just happened that there was a big cloud in the distance and when I zoomed in on them it looks more menacing than it really was.

Then we had a one hour drive to get home to San Gaspar. We stopped in at the big Chedraui grocery store in town, then home.

Happy to be home!

We really enjoyed our three weeks away, but could tell that we are ready to see some new things. While we like our old haunts at Valle de Juarez and Etzatlan, we were ready to leave after the time we spent there. Of course we had only been there a year ago. But with our current plan of exploring central and south America, it will be a few years before we return to those places.

So, we are back home... but only for a few days! We take the bus to Mexico City early next Wednesday morning to meet our daughter Lindsey and family. We have one night in Mexico City to show them the highlights, and then we all return to Valle de Bravo until February 9th when we all return to Mexico City. On February 10th, they head north to Canada, and we head south to Ecuador!

But we've got lots to do over the next three or four days. Igor's replacement furnace has arrived here, so I want to get that done before we leave.

Oh, and long time blog follower "Jenlee" asks a favor for her daughter Mrs. Phillips Kindergarten Class...
