We haven't done that part of the highway since 2011, and at that time we were headed in the opposite direction. It took us five hours (including a one hour stop for lunch) to do 175 kms (108 miles).
What a beautiful sunrise we had this morning!
We said goodbye to Mark, Barb, and their son Shawn.
And headed south on highway 200.
They are doing a bunch of road improvements.

We pulled in to the little seaside village of El Bejuco where I had read that there were a couple of free camping possibilities. Ruth stayed with Igor at the side of the road while I walked in to see if any were suitable. Sure enough, there were a couple of possibilities. I went into a little restaurant to ask if they thought we were okay there, but they insisted we park right beside the restaurant. Really friendly family.

We didn't eat there, but we sat in the shade and shared a huge coconut drink!
The restaurant lady's son was heading out fishing.
Out for a walk on the beach.
We sat and watched for whales, but we only saw one and it was pretty far away.

Nope... pelicans!
Some heavy clouds moved in right around sunset.
Watching the world go by.
Today we are headed through Lazaro Cardenas to Playa Troncones.
