It finally arrived!

Regular readers might remember that Igor's new furnace had an issue when we returned from the high altitude at Hidalgo at the end of November. The manufacturer in Canada has been great with their after sales service, and offered to send us another unit with different software installed. The new unit arrived by FedEx in Toluca, Mexico on December 4th.

And it's been stuck there ever since!

It was a customs clearance issue. But it sure did take some effort to fix. Long story, but I had notice from our friend Chago at the marina at our house that it arrived on Thursday.

So, that will be a project I'll have to do when we get back there at the end of this week.

Yesterday, we woke up to the sound of the waves, and went for a morning walk on the beach near Playa Troncones.

Morning walk on the beach.

Nobody around.

Where Igor had been parked for the night.

We took the back roads to the Ixtapa RV Park.

We weren't sure we were going to stay there, since it's a bit pricey and it's really only a parking lot. We used it when we were traveling through with our RV caravan groups because it's the only suitable option. But there are a couple of other options for solo vans closer to Zihuatanejo.

It's now 380 pesos ($30 CAD, $21.50 USD) per night, which is actually cheaper than I thought it was going to be. And, there was one well shaded section where the lady said we could park. Igor needs a serious cleanup, and it will be convenient to be able to do that in the shade with a good supply of water!

So we signed up for one night, but we'll probably stay for two.

Igor, parked at the Ixtapa RV Park.

There are about ten other RV's here, most of them from the province of Quebec.

We walked down Playa Linday beach later in the afternoon.

Lots of Mexicans enjoying the day.
We didn't see a single gringo!

At Playa Linda, there is an estuary where crocodiles live. They've got it fenced off, but there is a viewing platform.

Such prehistoric creatures!

This one is big!

Lots of teeth!

Ixtapa sunset.

The sun looked weird right when it set.

Our mine site tour has now been officially confirmed for Wednesday. That's fantastic news, since it now allows us to meet up with our friends Dave and Maggie tomorrow (Monday) and then we can use Tuesday to do the long six hour drive inland on a very twisty road.

Today is clean up day!
