Which means our time here in Albania is going by quickly! We fly to Southampton on the 29th, which is only 10 days away.
And, the main reason we came to Albania was the dental work, which will be completed during my fourth and final appointment at 9:00am this morning. So we've got all next week to do some more exploring.
Yesterday morning, we tried to do a drive to a national forest. But as with many back roads in Albania, it's really only for four wheel drive or at least high clearance vehicles only. So we ended up parking, and walking along a section of it for a few kilometers. Still, it was a nice morning and we enjoyed the scenery.
The road we had hoped to drive on.
Not really suitable for our little rental car!
We think this is a cicada.
Scenery along the way.
Mr. Grasshopper.
We saw this turtle at the side of the road.
We actually saw one crossing the road as well, and we stopped and moved him across to the side.
Lots of olive trees.
Looking south towards Greece.
The border is only about 80 kms (50 miles) as the crow flies.
Late afternoon, we went and picked up some groceries, and saw a strange license plate!
It was the same plate, front and back with no Albanian plates.
I just thought it was odd that someone would go to the trouble of shipping such a common vehicle.
Just out of curiosity, I checked into it, and it's really not that expensive to ship a car from the U.S. to Europe. Likely under $2,000 USD one way.

Decent deal on a 100' Heavy Duty Extension Cord.
And in Canada...
