We walked into town and back three times yesterday. It doesn't feel like much at the time because it's only 2kms each way, but when you do it there and back three times it adds up to 12 kms (7.5 miles) throughout the day!
The first time was for my final dental appointment at 9:00am.
The pedestrian area at Berat.
But I didn't realize that the 9am appointment was just for the fitting of the bridge. Then, they had to take it back to the lab and do the final polishing and I was to return again at noon. We didn't have anything else to do for a couple of hours, so we walked back to the apartment, and returned downtown again at noon.
We walked back downtown again in the evening. We went out for dinner, and then took in some of the festival going on this weekend.
It's rare to see Tomorr Mountain without any clouds on it.
Lots of people heading into the center!
Ruth at dinner.
Dinner was typical Albanian fare.
I had the meatballs and Ruth had "terracotta meat" which was some kind of stew with sauce. And we shared a plate of grilled veggies.
Including a glass of wine each, and a shot of after dinner raki, the bill was 1,900 lek ($31 CAD, $22.50 USD).
Then we carried on to the festival.
It was quite busy!
We listened to the music for a while.
Lots of people drinking beer and having fun!
The Gorica Bridge at night.
Today, we are going to do a day trip to the Byllis Archeological Park.
