We're going on vacation!

Well, our time here in Albania is just about up. And we're ready to move on. It's been a good visit, but we won't do it at this time of year again. Spring or fall are the best times of year to be in Albania, so while I'm sure that we will return, it won't be in July!

But of course the only reason we came here was because of the dental work, so at least that is now done.

Today, we will drive up to Tirana airport where we have a hotel room booked for tonight. We have to be up at silly o'clock tomorrow morning in order to catch our 5:35am flight to Rome.

We'll have a five hour layover at Rome airport, and then fly Rome to Amsterdam and then Amsterdam to Southampton, England. So, three different airplanes tomorrow! Hopefully it all goes smoothly! They're all booked through KLM, so if something screws up, at least they'll still get us there.

We've got two nights in Southampton, and then on Thursday we board the Emerald Princess for our 16 day cruise to Iceland and Greenland. We're going on vacation!

Yesterday, we got on the road early and drove down to the Bogova Waterfall. Not much water at this time of year, so it was a little underwhelming, but at least it got us out of the apartment.

We also did a drive part way up Tomorr Mountain just to get some views.

There are quite a few forest fires going on in Albania right now.

In the evening, we walked into town for our last dinner out here in Albania.

Dinner. We shared a salad, some kind of lamb dish, and a stuffed pepper and rice.

With a half liter of wine, and two shots of raki the bill was 2,850 lek ($47 CAD, $34 USD). 

I'm going to try to get a haircut this morning, and then we'll get packed up and do the drive up to Tirana airport.
