Lots to look forward to, and it's coming up quickly!

We've proven to ourselves again that two weeks in one spot is enough for us.

Even when we like where we are, we get itchy feet after a maximum of two weeks and it's time for a change of scenery. And sometimes that's all it takes, is a change of scenery... and some different areas where we can go walking and explore.

That's what's happening tomorrow as Friday is moving day. And really, the only reason we are moving is because our current location wasn't available for the balance of our time in Antalya. However, we're quite happy with that.

We've got six more nights here in Antalya before we fly to Paris on May 1st. We're going to be moving to a tourist apartment south of the airport, close to Lara Beach. Fortunately, the price is a reasonable $31 USD ($42.25 CAD) per night for our last five nights in Turkiye. Seems the beach tourist season begins on May 1st and that's when prices increase.

And, it's a little closer to the airport which is more convenient for our early morning flight to Paris on the 1st.

While we've been fairly quiet during the month of April here in Turkiye, we've got a lot of fun coming up for the months of May and June! Our daughter and granddaughter will fly to London this coming Sunday, and then they will take the Chunnel train to meet us in Paris on May 1st. Then the four of us will fly Paris to Bristol, England on May 4th and spend a couple of days there before heading down to Helen and Tony's place for a visit with them for a few days starting May 6th. So, lots to look forward to, and it's coming up quickly!

Yesterday afternoon, we again met up with Joan and Alan, the early 80's couple who are traveling full time. We wandered around a bit and then sat and chatted over a couple of drinks.

I only took two photos all day!

The archeological site where they found the start of an 800 meter Roman road.
You can also see the remains of an old mosaic floor.

We had seen a news article yesterday saying that they had found some things of significance at this site just a few days ago... https://www.labrujulaverde.com/en/2024/04/long-roman-colonnaded-avenue-uncovered-in-antalya/

Very cool stuff. And so much that they can't uncover because there are currently more modern buildings on top of it!

Roast chicken dinner.

There's a guy just down the road from us who does whole roast chickens. So we picked one up for 180 lira ($5.50 USD, $7.50 CAD) and Ruth cooked up some veggies and mashed potato to go with it. Yummy!
