This is pretty tough to take!

Sunday's plan was to walk up to a gluten free cafe and shop north of the old harbor to see if they have any decent bread. We had found this little place last time we were here in Antalya, and they also have lots of bakery treats... all gluten free!

So we headed out and up through the old harbor area.

And it was another perfectly gorgeous day!

I dunno, but this is pretty tough to take!

We walked by the recently restored  Şehzade Korkut Mosque.

The building was originally built as a Roman temple in the 2nd century.

Ancient inscriptions.

Someone is handy with the crochet needles!

There have been boats in this harbor for over 2,000 years!

Looking across the bay to the mountains.

Two goats made of branches.

There are a lot of derelict old buildings in the central area.

Another gorgeous day in Antalya.

A tourist boat coming in.

Stray kittens.

We made it to the gluten free cafe, and it had changed locations. It was now smaller, and across the street from where it had been.

Still a good selection of breads.

And a smaller selection of treats.

We ended up spending 425 lira ($13 USD, $18 CAD), and even bought that fancy looking strawberry cake on the top shelf as a treat. We haven't had it yet though.

Me, with the Antalya sign.

A deep crevasse in the shoreline cliff.

There are two tram lines in Antalya, this old one, and a new line that runs out to the airport.

Later in the afternoon, we met up with fellow travelers Dave and Ilse. They are from Atlanta, Georgia area, and while they have done lots of traveling, they are currently on their first long term trip where they plan to be away from home for six months or so.

Dave keeps a blog at https://geezerabroad.com/.

We had a few drinks back at our apartment, and then went out for dinner together.

Ilse, Dave, and Ruth.

Back at the apartment, I caught the last couple of innings of the Blue Jays game.
Solid win for the Jays, with a great pitching performance.

Today, Ruth is off to the doctor at noon, and then we're meeting yet another group of travelers for happy hour!

  1. More beautiful photos of a gorgeous spot! And just to pick on you a bit, Kevin: It's knitting "needles" or crochet "hooks". ;-) Yes, I used to do all that stuff, back in the day. In this case, it does look like crochet, so hooks. Pretty cool craft project with the bicycle!

    1. Lol, Kevin would never have known that is was crocheted or knitted if I had not told him but I should have noticed the mistake he made with the needles when I proofread it and I didn't even notice the mistake, and you are right it should have been hooks, not needles.
