It's days like this that we're so glad we have the bikes with us

I am reminded why we liked Fethiye. And I don't blame the 10,000 or so British expats for living here. It's a really nice city.

Yesterday, we got the bikes off and went for a ride. We knew that there is a 6 km cycle path that runs the length of the coastline here at Fethiye. It is lined with park space, and a running/walking track, and cafes. It's really pretty, especially on a beautiful blue sky day.

It's days like this that we're so glad we have the bikes with us.

Looking towards central Fethiye.

We stopped at the harbor area and walked around for a bit.

Lots of tourist boats that are busy during summer.

Really nice cycling and running tracks.

We stopped at the big park and walked around a bit.

This big park is really well looked after, and it's totally free.

They have a huge free children's playground.

The grandkids would love this place.

What a great area.

But, we are going to have to get on the road again soon. We now have appointments with our ophthalmologist for next Saturday morning, the 19th in Antalya. And, we are going to get general medical checkups and blood tests and stuff done at the same time and pay for them out of pocket. No, nothing serious is wrong... it's just been a while since we've had it done.

In the evening, we had Alison and Martin over for dinner, and then we went inside their place and we taught them how to play euchre. Lots of fun, and we'll probably do the same thing this evening!

Kevin, Aly, and Martin.

It's another beautiful day and we are headed out for another bike ride this morning!

  1. Fantastic pics. Do you have a method that allows your pics to be quickly and easily added to your blog posts? I have no idea how it is done.

    1. Thank you! Adding the pictures is all part of the Blogger platform so it is relatively easier but the speed all depends on your cellular or WiFi connection, if it is a slow connection then the pictures will take a long time to load and with a good connection they can load quite quickly.

  2. Looks like a fun bike path, so long as it isn't too crowded. Fun!

    1. It was a great bike path and you are correct, only if it isn't too crowded and if people that are walking don't walk on it, which does happen quite often and is very frustrating at times.

  4. Hi - have you tried to fit your bikes in the gear garage in Max? I assume that would require taking wheels and handle bars off, but is it possible? Thanks

    1. No, we have not tried to fit our bikes in the gear garage, there wouldn't be any point because we have the bike rack. It would also be very time consuming taking off the handle bars and wheels and then having to put them back on again each time we wanted to use them. Even if we did try, I don't think they would fit through the door to the garage and we would have no room for anything else, our garage isn't all that big.
