Yesterday at happy hour we had a guest...

We enjoyed our 11 night stay at the ranch, but even when we like a place there comes a time when you have to leave. We are now headed up into the Oklahoma panhandle, and then Kansas.

We celebrated on Saturday night. Not sure what we were celebrating, but who needs a reason? We had bought some nice rib eye steaks, and the four of us used the dining room table to have a nice dinner!

Saturday afternoon, Denise and Ruth finished off their 500 piece jigsaw puzzle...

Scarlett, Denise, Ruth, and the puzzle.

Dinner is cooking.

Dinner is served!

Wonderful meal. We had splurged on a couple of small Black Angus rib eyes at Walmart for $11 USD ($15.50 CAD). They were delicious. Since we don't eat out in the U.S. or Canada, we don't mind splurging on groceries every now and again.

On Sunday morning, Ruth and I went for a 13 mile (20 km) bike ride. I didn't take any photos. Sometimes it's nice just to enjoy the ride and not worry about taking photos all the time. We did go into the sleepy little town of Lefors... population 495. Riding around, we might have seen a total of 5 people! And the local hairstylist calls her salon "The Best Little Hairhouse in Texas!". Too funny.

Yesterday at happy hour we had a guest...

Jack the orphan calf came for a visit.

Our last sunset at the ranch.

This morning, we are headed for a free RV parking area in the town of Dumas. It doesn't look great, but they have free electricity... good to break up the trip.

Nice price drop on the Echo Show 5.

And in Canada...

  1. I'm wondering if you'll have a cell signal at Black Mesa. That place is about as far off the grid as you can get in the lower 48. My parents lived about 50 miles from there just across the New Mexico line.

    1. I had checked the Verizon coverage map... It is spotty at best. Might be a short visit

  2. Wow! Nice picture of the girls. Looking great you guys! Too bad you had to leave the calf behind. But again, it would have outgrown Sherman in a short period of time :)

    1. Thanks Chris! :-)

Denise was very sad to leave Jack behind, and yes he would have outgrown our motorhomes fast!

  4. Nice seeing different places and doing different things but like you said there comes a time to start moving on down the road.
Jack will miss the attention he was being given. You'll have to stop there on your next trip south to see if he recognizes you.
Be Safe and Enjoy the open road.

    It's about time.

    1. Yes, we are sure that Jack is going to miss us, just like we will miss him. If we stop in on our next trip south, I would expect that Jack may be a steak or some ground meat by then. :-(

    1. Jack definitely took a shine to us, especially Denise. :-)

It was fun doing a jigsaw puzzle, neither one of us had done a puzzle in a good long time.
