A nice day at the park

We slept in a little bit again. Not letting all that travel and time change stuff affect us though. Other than not getting up until 8:30am, we have kept to our regular schedule and feel no ill effects of jet lag.

Planned on going for a morning hike, but it was almost noon by the time we got out to do it!

We headed up to the viewpoint overlooking the park, and then followed the ridge along the coulee...

Cows.

Looking down at the park.

Lake Diefenbaker.

Cactus and wildflowers.

More cows.

Saskatchewan.

The coulee.

We had been standing on the ridge, and I guess our voices spooked a couple of deer hiding in the coulee. We watched them run for a long time, and then another one jumped out of the bush. He was a big buck, with a big set of antlers. But, our good camera is still on the fritz, so no photos! We will hopefully get it repaired next week.

Cactus on the prairies.

Spent the rest of the day visiting with various people here at the park. Today, we are going into town to run some errands and get our drivers licence renewals done.

  1. You had talked about buying something near the park in order to have a Canadian permanent address - did you ever do that? What do you use as an address?

    1. And if you did, would that make you official Saskatchewese?

    2. We had sent in the required request to purchase one of the town's empty lots that was for purchase but we procrastinated a little too long with it and by the time the request reached the town office the property had already been sold about one week before. We weren't totally sure that is what we wanted at the time and took that as a sign that it wasn't meant to be. We will keep our eyes open for the right opportunity though because we do still want to buy a small lot but without as many restrictions.

We had been using the campground address up until now but have worked out something else in the meantime until we decide exactly what we want to do in the future.

    1. Yes, it was definitely nice to have that little down time. We seemed to have really been on the go for the last two weeks or so. It was nice to actually be at the campground as "campers" rather than as managers. :-)

  5. Kevin.....Your photos are still very good even if it’s not done with your “good “ camera. Beautiful scenes of Cabri.

    1. Thank you Lynnette! The problem is there could have been better ones that included close ups. The camera in the phone is just not as versatile as our good camera.
