More visitors, and a trip back into Orizaba for some fun!

When we arrived back from our adventure on Wednesday, a couple more rigs had arrived. One of them was one of those big German Unimog style offroad RV's... with license plates from Luxembourg!

And the other was a Canadian couple from Quebec.

Unfortunately, we didn't get to spend much time with them, although we told them about the marina where they could park at our place near Valle de Bravo... so perhaps we will see them there at some point.

You can go anywhere... unless restricted by height!

That's the major problem we see with these types of rigs... they are just too tall. But, these people have been all over the world with this rig. Including Kyrgyzstan where we will be next month!

The rig from Quebec is also tall!

Anyway, it was nice to have more visitors, even if only for a short time.

Ruth and I wanted to go back into Orizaba to see some more sights, and Viviana and Leilani, two of the girls here, took us up on our offer to join us.

First stop was the toboggan! You sit on a cart and zoom down a rollercoaster style course!

Ruth, getting settled onto her "toboggan".

Me, heading being pulled uphill.

Near the top, Leilani is on her way down!

My view, starting the ride down.

Another view.

Couldn't take any more photos on the way down because I had to hold on!

Me, arriving at the bottom.

It was a lot of fun, but a bit expensive for what you get. It cost 90 pesos ($7.20 CAD, $5.20 USD), but from the time you get to the top, it's over in less than 2 minutes! We paid for the girls, so we're glad they had fun.

We then took the free (but somewhat slow... you get what you pay for!) bus to the big central market where we wanted to have a local specialty. They are called gorditas, but they are very different compared to the typical gordita in Mexico.

We ordered one medium, and Ruth and I shared it.
70 pesos ($5.60 CAD, $4 USD) for one.

Viviana and Leilani also shared one.

What it looks like half eaten.
Ours was stuffed with chorizo and cheese. Messy to eat, but delicious!

Then we did the river walk and checked out the rest of the zoo animals that line the river walk. Everything for free.

The hippos are funny!

How can that be comfortable?

Orizaba River Walk.

Leilani and Ruth.
You have to be careful crossing the river to see the animals on the other side!

Viviana crossing the river.

Pigs... with a little one.

More little ones... they were tiny!

Another part of the river walk.

Scenery along the way.

Kinkajou... also known as a honey bear. Part of the racoon family.

Speaking of which!

We felt bad for this leopard. Not nearly enough space.

Orizaba River Walk.

A fun day out! I think today will be a relax day, and tomorrow the family wants to take us to a waterfall. Looks like we're hanging out here until Sunday or Monday!
