We had a very peaceful night sleeping in the village of Palo Verde. Surprisingly, not even any dogs barking or roosters crowing!
And we woke up to a beautiful clear blue sky, although they were calling for showers in the afternoon.
We headed off for our hike at 10:15am.
This is where Igor has been parked in the village of Palo Verde.
GPS 18.838649, -97.194046
It didn't take long to get some beautiful views!
A lookoff.
This rock is shaped perfectly for one person.
These small tunnels were built for water lines to the village.
Part of this one had collapsed, but you could still get through.
Pretty little purple flowers.
Zoomed in on the village where Igor is parked.
A beautiful hike!
We hiked all the way up to La Mano de la Montana (The Hand of the Mountain)... a scenic spot with a restaurant and viewpoint that most people drive to.
It was actually fairly busy up there.
But we didn't bother waiting in line for our own photos.
The strange things that you see.
And then we walked back down to Igor following the road. We had done about 10 kms (6.2 miles) in three hours. A great hike!
We had been so comfortable in our spot in the village that we decided to spend another night!
