Passing time

But at least there is no shortage of things to do.

I cut the lawn yesterday. That's a half an hour's worth of light exercise right there. And, I've been slowly picking weeds. I'm not great with gardening... it's just not my thing. But I can handle a few minutes at a time of cleaning up some of the overgrowth to make things look better.

The whole time though, I was being watched.

Not by the quarantine police... by these little ones...

Baby eastern phoebes.

They built a nest right above the sliding doors to the back deck, so the little ones watch our comings and goings pretty closely.

Mom watches us pretty closely too!

Before.

After.

Ruth has been busy giving Sherman'a interior a deep clean. Much easier with everything now removed and the interior empty. I may even remove the carpet that I had replaced about 8 years ago and give it a power wash. It's still in pretty good condition, but it needs a real scrubbing.

And, we have a pretty good exercise program going. I've been using a set of workout bands for the last couple of months while we were in the motorhome, so I've expanded on that so that it takes up about 45 minutes a day. Including push ups, chin ups and abdominal crunches and some other exercises. Ruth has been doing a circuit in the house using all three levels. No point in not staying in shape while we're holed up here. We will keep this up once the quarantine is over.

    1. Thank you!

As for the exercise routine, it will work while we are in quarantine but it simply isn't the same as being outside and doing our normal walk/bike ride. Walking from one end of the house to the other as well as going up and down the two flights of stairs for 45 minutes starts to get old quickly.

  4. The work on the sidewalk is impressive! Way to go. I have thoroughly enjoyed following your travels in Sherman...he'll be missed by lots of us, I bet. :) But I'm sure all your adventures to come will be just as great.

    1. Thank you Nancy, in just a short time Kevin has made it look so much better. Once I get the inside of Sherman all cleaned up I will start work on weeding the garden.

We will also miss Sherman but we have lots of memories of our wonderful adventures together and now we are looking forward to having new adventures in a totally different part of the world. :-)

    1. It's a good thing you enjoy the blog no matter what because these last few days and the coming ones are the most interesting. :-)

Those little birds flew the coop a couple days after this picture was taken.

The flowers are pretty and it will look even better once I start weeding the garden and cutting back the dead stuff.
