There's no question, it's a beautiful area.

Unfortunately Bjorn and Freya were still having vehicle problems, so they headed into the larger city of Karakol where there is more choice of mechanics.

While they were doing that, Ruth and I took a detour up to the Seven Bulls Rock scenic area.

One busy town along the way, and then we headed south at the town of Jeti-Oguz to get to the Broken Heart and Seven Bulls.

Busy town along the way.

We found a spot to park and had some lunch before heading out on foot.

The famous Broken Heart Rock.

There is livestock wandering loose everywhere.

This little calf was quite friendly.

Another view.

Really weird rock in this area.

So many horses!

Most people come here to see the Seven Bulls Rock viewpoint, but there are several short hiking trails where we saw nobody.

Lots of little ones.

Me, with the Seven Bulls Rock in the background.

A new hotel at the base of the rock.

And another one under construction.

Coffee shop at the viewpoint.

There's no question it's a beautiful area.

The photos don't show it, but there are actually quite a few tourists around. The tour buses can drive right up to the viewpoint. Of course we had hiked up.

Vladdy, parked in some shade while he waited for us to return.

More road construction heading into Karakol.

It was a bumpy, dusty drive!

We arranged to meet Bjorn and Freya at a free campsite near the hot springs.

Camping with the cows!

They don't seem bothered by us.

This one has pretty colors.

We learned that the hot springs were open until 10:00pm, so we decided to go for an evening dip. It was located only 20 minute walk down the road. There were three pools, but one of them is so hot we don't understand how anybody can get in it!

This is the place!

So that was a fun excursion!
