Thought this was funny...

I didn't leave the house all weekend! Unbelievable. This trip planning is fun for me, and I enjoy it, but it sure is time consuming.

Ruth did manage to get out and pick up a few groceries from the local shops.

So this upcoming China trip is interesting. The high speed trains are more expensive than I though they were going to be, but still reasonable. The accommodation is cheaper than I thought, especially for some really good quality places, and all the places I've booked include breakfast.

Except for Hong Kong.

Hong Kong is one of the most expensive places in the world for accommodation. It ranks right up there with Zurich, New York, and Singapore. All things considered, I think we actually got quite a decent deal for a decent room. Our hotel there is costing the equivalent of $155 CAD ($113 USD) per night. Which I know for some of you that might not sound too bad in this day and age, but I think it's the most we have ever paid. Good thing we're only there for three nights.

Our balcony yesterday. Notice the clouds. Rainy season is coming.

Ruth bought 2 kilos (4.5 lbs) of strawberries yesterday.

They were 50 pesos per kilo. That's about $4 CAD. Or $1.80 CAD ($1.32 USD) per lb. Not even sure if that's a good deal because we have no idea what strawberries might cost in Canada now!

I stayed home yesterday because we were waiting for a package to be delivered. We had ordered one of those magnetic screens for our kitchen to patio door. Yes, they deliver packages on a Sunday here.

There, that's better!

We don't really have much of a bug problem here, but there are a few mosquitos that appear around sunset. We don't like having to shut the door, hence the need for a screen. Much better now since our kitchen really doesn't have much ventilation without the door open.

Saw this online and thought it was funny because we can relate!

Good deal on this top quality Robot Lawnmower.

And in Canada...
