All flights and accommodations are booked for the whole trip, and while that sounds a little too organized for our liking, there is actually a lot of flexibility once we arrive at our destinations.
We'll be on eight different airplanes over the next two months!
Here's our approximate flight routing.
We depart from Mexico City, and our longest flight of the bunch is the first one... Mexico City to Madrid, which is a ten and a half hour flight.
Then we get a one night sleep in Madrid before boarding flight number two to Istanbul. This is a connecting flight, so we get a bit of a break to stretch our legs for an hour in Istanbul before carrying on with flight number three to Almaty, Kazakhstan. We take the bus from there to Bishkek.
Then we've got a full month in Kygyzstan in a Russian built 4x4 campervan. We do have a plan, although it's all very loose, We have a lot of flexibility, and if we want to stay somewhere, we'll stay and if we want to move on, we'll move on. It should be a great experience.
Flight number four is from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to Chengdu, China. We will be three weeks in China, and that's where we have all of our transportation and accommodation prearranged. Flight number five is an in country domestic flight. Then we'll have three nights in Hong Kong before boarding flight number six from Hong Kong to Tokyo.
A week or so in Japan, then flight number seven from Japan to Vancouver. One night in Canada, then flight number eight to return to Mexico City July 23rd.
This two month trip will include two new countries for us... China, (#75) and Japan (#76).
