We had a good day... we had to go into town anyhow, so we timed it around lunch and went out for a meal to our favorite enchiladas restaurant here in Valle de Bravo.
I mentioned the other day that it looked like rainy season was about to begin. It's usually around the third week of May, but that's certainly not written in stone. Looks like this year it started... yesterday!
We arrived in Valle and we were walking down to the bank when we passed a barbershop. I was due for a haircut and there was nobody waiting, so we popped in there and got that done. 150 pesos ($11.95 CAD, $8.70 USD) and the girl (Carolina) did a good job so I'm happy with that. And she said she would do Ruth's for the same price, so we'll go back to her as necessary. It's actually hard to believe that in all the time we've spent in this area it's the first time I've needed a haircut here.
Next stop was the restaurant. We've been to this place before, and they make the best enchiladas. The price is decent, although they make up for the decent food prices with fairly expensive drinks.
I had the enchiladas verde.
Ruth had the enchiladas roja.
Including a beer, a lemonade, and the tip, the total for the two of us was 390 pesos ($31 CAD, $22.50 USD).
There had been a few raindrops while we were in the restaurant, and it was spitting while we walked back to the ATV. But it had pretty much stopped when we decided we would be okay to drive to the grocery store without getting too wet. It's only about a ten minute drive. Well, we got soaked! Good thing it's only water!
So I guess rainy season has begun. Normally that means this area gets about two hours of rain in the afternoon every day. We've never been here during the height of it, so we're actually looking forward to when we return here July 23rd.
Later in the afternoon, we went to our Spanish lesson. Only one more on Thursday, then we're done until we return in July.
In the evening, we watched the Blue Jays game. They're not off to a good start, with a lot of injuries and inconsistent play. Hopefully things will turn around for them soon before they get too far behind.
